How to Care for Your Pet Salad

Pet Salad is alive when you bring it home. At room temperature, it will grow about an
inch a day. Use the base provided to add water from the bottom when the soil gets dry
(light brown in color or light weight).

A container of Pet Salad will last about a week outside of the fridge. When Pet Salad gets to
be about 7-8 inches tall, it will start to turn yellow and the blades will split on top. At this point
the amount of chlorophyll in each blade has diminished greatly. It is best to discard the grass
at this time (or compost it!) and buy a fresh container, so that your pet gets the most
nutrition from the grass.
